How many of you hate having to call a company or school or institution only to be greeted by a digital recording of a human, or even worse.. a human-like voice that tries to understand you?
yeah, that’s what i thought. now, how many of you prefer to communicate via email instead of the phone? what about scouring a website for an email address that you can send something to hoping that a person receives it. i’d say most of the time you’ll get a human response via email. On occasion you’ll get that one slacker who copies and pastes the info you need into an email, but still, the action of a human doing it is unheard of!
i honestly have stopped calling companies. for any customer service. 100% of the time you will be put on hold. I don’t have time for that, I’ve got shit to do and i cant wait for 4 hours to elevator music that beeps on occasion. AND EVEN THEN you get transferred between departments and the call will get lost. God help you if you’re on a cell and you “lose a bar” and have to start over.. then you have to hit all the little prompts..
on top of that, good luck finding an 800 number to even call. some companies like paypal for example hide their numbers and instead prompt you to give them YOUR number and they’ll call back when THEY get the chance? haha, fuck that.
the solution: flood their inboxes with email! people hate full in-boxes, so they try and handle things more quickly than responding to a voice mail. on top of that, they dont have to write anything down, everything they need is in that email you send them.. hopefully..
and the final word, you get to talk to a real human! sometimes theyre even nice to you!
