I found the same song from Pandora. It so resonated with me, especially with my recent divorce. Thanks so much for putting this together. I think I found a couple of refinements as I've listened to it over and over as well. Here are some things I heard--still one part I don't totally get:

Tangled strings weave knots into my soul
Twist and turn they fail to un·rav·el

Feel the pull
Take its toll

[chorus]
Cut this rope thats holding us together
Years from now I’m sure we will see better
What’s so good it couldn’t last forever?
letting go, i know it will be better

Ashes formed, post embers burned out slow
From the fires that once inspired me so
And let me go, (this hand to fold)( I can't make it out exactly)

[chorus]
Cut this rope thats holding us together
Years from now I’m sure we will see better
What’s so good it couldn’t last forever?
Letting go, I know it will be better

Naked, there’s no more for you to see
Good and bad, you’ve seen all sides of me
Let you be. Release slow·ly

[chorus]
Cut this rope thats holding us together
Years from now I’m sure we will see better
What’s so good it couldn’t last forever?
Letting go, I know it will be better

Dude, You are so much like me you got me wondering if you're my twin!

The working from home thing, losing track of time, not sleeping, forgetting to eat... same here my man. I have a Mac Pro and I run on a dual 22" W... and I'm usually trying to video edit in FCP, AE while I'm recording audio in Garage Band and editing audio in Soundtrack Pro, keeping a ton of Fireofx 3 tabs open (never got the hang of safari...and Chrome sucks round things males have because of the scrolling issue), two email clients (2 separate work addresses), Coda, TONS of stickies all over the screens and BOY do I switch from one project to another! :) On top of that, I have 4 printers that I use at the same for printable media, and a duplicator tower that I keep burning 24/7 (11 at a time). I often find myself working on something other than what I was supposed to...frustrating.

The way I still breathe and remember to prepare for exams is by using Zenbe (iPhone and online), iCal, TaskFreak! (where I 'met' you). I'm going to try that rescuetime.com thing, but I must admit I'm still not ok with the fact that THEY store the information and not my own machine.

The set of software you just mentioned for Windows is my EXACT step-by-step practice :)
Windows, firewall off and Windows defender off, auto updates off, avg free, spybot S&D, latest FF (+adblockplus,DownloadHelper,WebDeveloper,ColorZilla),SyncToy backing up my PST to either the network or a different partition.

I don't know if you are aware of this, but IE6 is used extensively in the 'orlando' area. Just about every business I service computers for are using IE6 or some OLD OLD Opera version before I take over. Oh, and let me tell you how much I HATE the damn ActiveX crap! The only solution I have found for that is to re-visit the business after 2 weeks of use and CLEAN UP Internet Explorer's addon list. If I remove toolbars and ActiveX controls then the user is going to RE-install them. Oh, and when I ask them if they need the Google or Yahoo or WebSearch toolbars I always get this answer "I don't know! I didn't install it!".

i agree, linux is a big frustration due to too much reliance on cli

i know there are gui programs but they are just artificially limited, or not installed by default. when i say artificially limited i mean on windows the same thing can perfectly be achieved with a gui program. just not on linux.

if one day a distro will recognize my usb cf reader and lets me format the cf card in it without having to ever look at cli, and all that out of the box, then maybe linux will have a chance,

until then, not.

Mr. Wallace, while i appreciate you taking the time to post your propaganda on my site, please don't fill up my comment fields with it. Feel free to express your opinion, in terms of leaving a comment. Do not post up an article you wrote. If I find your article interesting, I will either re-post it myself and credit you with a link to your site, or I will link to you directly. I am editing out this article because 1) you did not contact me first, and 2) its blatant propaganda for your candidacy. This is MY site, and its for MY opinion. thank you.

maybe things have changed in the last 6 months?
i have switched back over to windows, unfortunately.. mostly due to work.

last i was using SuSE 10.2, and recently(within the last month) i installed a clean ubuntu 7

both were wonderful systems, but the average user, aka.. my gf, mother, random friends... could not get the hang of it off the bat. they could use the internet, but as soon as they ended up with a tarball or gzip, they were lost.. even though they had a GUI archiver.

i dunno. i just still see too much reliance on CLI for mainstream linux, and that poses a hurdle the common windows user does not, or is not ready to cross.

Daeng, nice blog!
